Theory is closing April 20th 2019 due to the Owner’s relocation
A letter from the Owner…
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I know we are all busy! I wanted to personally reach out to each of you to share some important news. My time in Pocatello has come to an end, and I will be closing the salon and relocating to Las Vegas May 2019. I know many of my client’s are aware that this is my final year here, but this closure news may come as short notice to some, and I imagine may be a little upsetting. However, please do not worry, because I will be providing you with all the information you need for future appointments along with my Stylist referrals in this email!
First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting my small business and choosing myself and my team to be your service providers here in Pocatello. It has been my absolute pleasure doing your hair and introducing you to Davines, Green Circle Salons and Sustainable Beauty; and I know my team feels the same way.
Opening my first salon has been a major milestone for my life and career; it’s been scary and empowering all at once! I am so incredibly thankful for the wonderful support each of you have shown me over these last two years with the salon, and for many, the last four years through each transition that led to opening it. Creating and growing Theory has truly been a labor of love, and you have helped us through every bump in the road, and myself and my team feel so special for that.
Whether you have been a client of one of my team members, in my chair for the last four years or just for one appointment, I want you to know have appreciated every moment! I wouldn't be where I am today without the support of every client who has walked in the door, every review written, and every ounce of creative freedom and trust that has been given. THANK YOU! I truly love what I do, and that wouldn't be possible without all the amazing people I get to do it for. I will miss you all very much, but I know I am leaving you in good hands, and I will still get to interact with you on the wonderful world of social media.
A lot of people ask me why I am leaving, or, if I will come back periodically for appointments. I regret to inform you that I will not be returning to Pocatello, but I have learned a lot of valuable lessons while here, and this will be somewhat bittersweet for me. As many of you know, I have experienced some struggles and setbacks, some high highs and low lows; but I have chosen to focus on the good. I took a risk and created something I am very proud of, I have met YOU, trained for Davines all over the PNW, made some lifelong friends, learned to garden, ski, and drive in the snow (haha), and my personal favorite: had the opportunity to mentor an amazing team of talented young women.
My little neighborhood salon has experienced so much success because of each of you, and that means more to me than you will ever know. Thank you for accepting me, all my quirks and cuss words, but most importantly, thank you for opening your minds and hearts to something different for this town. Team Theory is so grateful to be a part of your life, and even though this shift will be difficult at first for some, all good things await us on the next step!
I have made it my mission over the last four years to groom and mentor many young women on my team in hopes that I will be able to pass the torch of salon ownership, and watch another boss babe step into this role. Running a business is a big responsibility, and although we have tossed around the idea of leaving Theory open with someone, after a long process and genuine consideration, it has been decided that it's best to be happy with the memory of how great it was, and each of us start fresh on the next chapter.
I am confident that with your support, these ladies can find their own success, and they are so excited to continue on with Davines and Sustainable Beauty in their next location. I am leaving everyone’s formulas in the system, along with detailed notes, so do not panic, we are working to prepare for you. I have spent quite some time training both Chantelle and Tessa in Curly Hair Cuts, Color Correction and more. These young ladies are incredibly skilled and I am so excited to see what they do in their future careers. I feel pride and gratitude for being a small part of their foundation, and I trust that they will continue to provide you with an artisanal experience.
I ask my clients to please support these young ladies, and stick with them through this transition. Give them a chance to get on their feet while they get the hang of everything in a new space, and remember it may take 1-2 appointments to get to know you better. Of course, some changes will occur, but they will be positive ones! We are a resilient group and the sky is the limit!
In preparation for the transition, we will no longer have a receptionist, so please bear with us if we miss phone calls, and try to utilize our online booking system as much as possible or reach out to us directly. I am listing every provider's personal contact information, and when we are able to send an update with their next location(s), we will. I will also try and plan a little closing party if time allows, and I will be selling some of the salon furniture and equipment in the coming months. If you need to stock up on Davines, I am currently taking personal orders for liters, skincare and more. You can also find Davines products on Amazon (ships directly from Davines), at Davines.com, or if you want to support another small business: by searching the salon locator in your area on Davines.com.
BOOKING WITH BRITTNEY:
I will not be accepting appointments beyond April 20th 2019. I have changed my schedule to be a little more available for our final appointment together, and encourage each of you to pre-book ASAP as availability is limited. If you have trouble finding a spot for what you want done, I can always adjust times, so please text me before giving up and I will try to be as accommodating as possible. If you have a pre-booking for May or June, it will be cancelled or transferred to another stylist.
I wish you all the best. I will never forget the experiences and the wonderful relationships that have impacted me so greatly as a hairdresser and as a human being. If you're ever in Vegas, please let me know! I would love to see you in my chair, or just for a visit.
Be well, take care of yourself and each other, adopt more plants, RECYCLE and reduce, pet more dogs, use less plastic, try new recipes, listen to Bob Dylan, change your hair, EAT THE CAKE, take more risks, travel more, speak up, be the change, when you fail, try again, and think of me when you need a good 'ol dose of "F*#K it!" inspiration.
I love you all, and I will not forget my time here and what it has given me. Thank you for being a part of my life and my business. I hope I can see you one more time before I blow this popsicle stand!
